History of the Haemophilia & Exercise Project As of today only a few studies exist which have been dealing with the investigation of sports related changes in patients with haemophilia. In 1992 the WFH issued a guideline for sports of haemophiliacs “Go for it” in order to support the development of guidelines and options for sports and recreation. Though the publication could not clarify all questions the individuals with haemophilia had the chance to go by these guidelines. So far the offers for the implementation of an appropriate training program are marginal. Where, when and above all which physical activities can haemophilic patients conduct without increasing the bleeding risk? These questions were decisive in the development of the "Haemophilia & Exercise Project”. |
